EDITOR'S PICKS: 5 Things To Do On Saturday, September 12
Framingham State football home opener, art reception at Fountain Street Fine Art gallery, lacrosse clinics, and music at Amazing Things.
These are my picks of things to do today in Framingham:
1. Cheer on the Rams! The Framingham State University football team will have its home opener today at Bowditch Field. They will battle Cortland State at noon.
The Rams were Conference champs last year, undefeated in the Conference at 8-0 and finished the season at 10-1.

Last week, the football team defeated Endicott College 42-6.
2. Explore Art! Artist Roy Perkinson’s one-man show opened at Fountain Street Fine Gallery this week. The Poetry of Light is a series of watercolors, pastels, and oils. The exhibit is open through Oct. 4. There is a reception with the artist today from 5 to 7 p.m.

4. Play Lacrosse! F ramingham Youth Lacrosse is offering its first ever “fall ball. Boys practices at Fuller Middle and girls at Victory Field on Saturdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The free session, for new and returning players, is available to children with a valid US Lacrosse membership ($25 a year) Register at www.framinghamyouthlacrosse.org
5. Listen to Music From The Beatles! Tribute band AfterFab takes the stage at Amazing Things Arts Center tonight at 8.
The band performs music by members of The Beatles solo careers.
“AfterFab are not impersonators. It’s all about the music — classic songs, going beyond the greatest hits: you’ll hear deep tracks you won’t hear elsewhere, certainly not from other tribute band,” posted Amazing Things on its website.
Tickets start at $20, with discounts for students, seniors, and children.
