Flyer Football Sixth Grade Team Earns First Win of the Season

The FYFC grade 6 football team defeated Norwood Mustangs 20-13 on Sunday morning.

The home crowd was ecstatic to see the Flyers take on the Norwood Mustangs in the fourth game of the season.

The Flyers raced out to an early lead to start the game.

Scott Beverley had a 10-yard pass to Cody Coleman and Coleman had a 30-yard touchdown run.

Jacques Cazeau’s extra point run gave the Flyers a 7-0 lead.

On defense, Kevin Branch II had a key tackle for a loss and when the Flyers got the ball back Cazeau quickly had a 35-yard touchdown run.

Later in the half, Framingham recovered a fumble when Norwood was near the goal line and Alexander Lopez (tackle for loss), Timothy Sullivan (fumble recovery), Joseph Balboni (broken-up pass) had impressive defensive plays.

Although Norwood finally scored with a 16-yard touchdown pass, Cody Coleman had a second touchdown of the game (34 yards) and the score was 20-7 in favor of the Flyers at halftime.

Framingham didn’t score in the second half but managed to hold on to their lead.

Norwood added one more touchdown to the scoreboard but Connor Smith and Joseph Balboni had clutch defensive plays to stop Norwood and Kavaun Smith had an interception.

The Flyers earned their first win of the season by a score of 20-13.
