UPDATED: Flyers Finish 10th in New England

The girls 4X200 indoor relay team broke their own Framingham High School record, over the weekend.

The Framingham High girls 4X200 relay team finished tenth at the New England Championship meet Sunday, said indoor track coach Chris Collins.

The girls broke their own Framingham High record with a run of 1:46.03 minutes.

Freshman Leche Small-Brown, ran a 26 seconds leg, followed by junior Jenny Ribeiro at 26.9, then sophomore Zoie Carter at 26.2, with senior Olivia Rothenberg running a 26.7 anchor leg in heavy traffic, said Collins.

”The four girls from all different walks of life, and all four grades, symbolize this town, and the success that can be attained through togetherness without scrutiny,” said Collins.

The foursome have less than 2 days to decide if they want to train for the national meet, said Collins.

“They didn’t make the clear qualifying time, but I think they are close enough they would allow them into emerging elite,” said Collins.

On Valentine’s Day, the foursome finished second overall in the Division 1 state meet, setting a new Framingham High record at 1:46.20 minutes.

“Together they have had an amazing year so far, and if they remain together even better things are sure to come for them in the spring,” said Collins.”It has been a real pleasure being allowed to be part of the experience as their coach even if only for 1 season directly.”
