UPDATED: Flyers Finish 6th at Central-South Sectional Swim Meet

Framingham swimmers Matt Peck and Cole Bassett each placed in the top 10 in two events.

The Framingham High boys swim & dive team finished sixth overall at the MIAA Central-South Sectional Swim Meet at MIT on Sunday, Feb. 14.

Norwell won the meet. The Flyers won the meet in 2015. Westborough was second and Wellesley was third.

The Flyers finished sixth out of 48 teams Sunday.

The Flyers (seniors Matt Peck and Giulian Santos along with sophomores Cole Bassett and Ray Wong) finished second in the 200 freestyle relay. Wellesley won the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:29.58 minutes. The Flyers finished second in 1.29.81 minutes.

The same relay team finished sixth in the medley relay, with a time of 1:42.89. Norwell High won the relay in 1:39.11 minutes.

In the sprint event Ashland’s Roger Gu won it in 21.40 seconds, a meet record. Flyer Bassett finished fourth, in the 50 yard event in 22.25 seconds. Bassett was seeded ninth at the start of the meet.

Bassett also finished sixth in the 100-yard backstroke His time was 55.98 seconds. Norwell junior Auston Ramsay won the race in 52.01 seconds.

Peck finished second in the individual medley 2:01.84. The winner was freshman River Wright of Attleboro in 1:57.42.

Peck finished sixth in the butterfly in 54.28 seconds. The winner was Jared Wong, a Westborough senior, in 52.09 seconds.

Santos finished 12th in the 100 yard freestyle and 15th in the 50 freestyle for Framingham.
