Flyers Marching Band Kicked Off Season Friday Night With Sea Theme

The Framingham High instrumental music program will be selling tickets for its calendar raffle at Temple Street Stop and Shop Sept. 13.

The Framingham High School Flyer Marching Band kicked off its season with a performance at halftime at the Framingham High football season opener on Friday, Sept 11.

This year’s theme is the “Sea.”

The show features ocean-infused music of Robert W. Smith, Claude Debussy, and Reinhold Gliere, depicts the adventure found on the high seas.

The marching band will perform at all football home games and will compete in a trio of competitions in October and November.

Last year, the marching band won several competitions.

This year, the marching band is under the direction of Andy Jasinski . He is aided by assistant director Diane Thomas and percussion instructor Tim Weber.

The band is conducted on the field by Drum Major Lara Williams, a Framingham High student.

Student section leaders and officers include: Michael Chan, Derrick Liu, Bradley Heistand, Rohan Elkins, Jordan Ramsay, Elise Lenzi, Jillian Shapiro, Donata Liu, and Jeffrey Chan.

Today, Sept, 13, members of the marching band and the instrumental music program at Framingham High will be selling calendar raffle tickets at the Temple Street Stop & Shop from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In a calendar raffle, one ticket has the chance to win as many as 31 calendar day prizes.

The fundraiser benefit the high school’s instrumental music program and helps pay for instruments, repairs, registration fees, field trips, transportation, social events!

Tickets are $5 for 1 tickets or $10 for 3 tickets.

Raffle is for the month of October.
