Football Opens Season With A Loss to Norwood
This is the 13th straight loss for the Framingham Flyers, who were winless last season at 0-12.
Framingham High’s football team started the season, the way it ended last season, with yet another loss.
Framingham High hosted Norwood High School Friday night a Bowditch Field.
The Flyers lost 31-13.

Ironically, it was the teams 13th straight loss, as the Framingham High football team, under head coach Gary Doherty, was winless last season at 0-12.

The Mustangs capitalized and scored first on a 50-yard pass.
Framingham tied the game 7-7, when quarterback Nathan Martino ran into the endzone.
The Flyers took the lead 10-7, after a 35-0 yard field goal.
But a few plays later, the Mustangs went up 14-10.
Framingham scored on another field goal in the first half, and that was it for scoring for the Flyers.
Framingham fumbled the ball with two seconds left in the half, but Norwood was unable to convert the turnover into points, so at halftime the score was 14-13.
The second half was all Norwood.
A 45-yard touchdown pass by the Mustangs made it 21-13. A 20-yard touchdown pass increased the lead to 28-13, for Norwood.
Framingham tried to move the ball, by the Flyers quarterback fumbled a snap, and Norwood took over on the 30 yard line. The Mustangs converted the turnover with a field goal for the final score of the night.
