Framingham Council On Aging Accepting Nominations For Senior Heroes

The fifth Annual Senior Heroes awards program celebrates Framingham's older community stars.

FRAMINGHAM, MA - The Framingham Council on Aging is accepting nominations for its fifth annual Senior Heroes awards program.

There will be four winners all over the age of 60, and their selections will be awarded based on their volunteer efforts and contributions to inclusivity in Framingham. There are four categories, and one winner will be selected from each.

Culture/Arts: Performing arts such as poetry, playwriting, music, dance and singing that celebrate diversity and inclusivity.

Social Development: Programs that improve or promote positive interactions among people from different ethnic groups, gender identities and ages.

Health: Efforts that focus on people whose access has been limited due to race, gender, language, disability, etc.

Public Service: Contributions to volunteer services on boards, councils and committees.

Municipality employees, elected officials and candidates for public office are ineligible for nomination, and neither are current Council on Aging members.
