As a result of Hurricane Sandy, Framingham will hold a special yard waste curbside collection the week of Nov. 13 and have extended hours at the Recycling Center on Nov. 4 & 11.

A special curbside collection of yard waste will take place as a result of Hurricane Sandy.

Brush, branches, and limbs must be neatly piled curbside by Tuesday, Nov. 13.

For this one time collection only, it will not be necessary to tie the materials up.  However, please keep the area free of vehicles between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. so that our equipment can pick it up.

It may take a few days to service the entire town to collect the materials.

This collection is for natural vegetation only. Food, trash, construction materials, etc., will not be collected. Bagged leaves will continue to be collected as scheduled throughout the month of November on your regular trash day.

In addition, the normally scheduled curbside brush collection will occur on your regular trash day during the week of Dec. 3-7  During this second collection brush will have to be prepared properly; bundled, tied, no greater than four feet in length and no greater than four inches in diameter.

Please be conscientious of the fact that this special curbside collection is being provided as a service for residents who experienced damage during the storm and should not be used for routine landscaping purposes.

Also, if you have a large tree or a stump which requires attention, please contact a professional tree service company for removal and disposal services.

Residents with a Recycling Center Permit may also bring brush and leaves to the Yard Waste facility located on Dudley Road.

The facility is open on Fridays and Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Sunday hours will be extended for the next two weeks, Nov. 4 & 11 rom 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Please note that you will not be able to purchase Permits on Sunday, Nov. 11 as the Recycling Center on Mt. Wayte Avenue will be closed in observance of Veterans Day.

Permits are available for a $10 fee at the Recycling Center during normal operating hours, and at the Public Works Operations Center, 100 Western Ave. Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
