Framingham Grocer Announces Closing Before 1 Year Anniversary

Fifty employees will be impacted by the closure, according to a notice submitted to the state.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — It isn't quite a grand opening-grand closing ordeal, but The Fresh Market has announced it'll close less than one year after it opened.

The grocer opened in the former Bed Bath & Beyond space at 84 Worcester Rd. on Dec. 11, 2024. It was reported last week that the store will likely close during the same month this year.

Also last week, the company submitted a WARN notice to the state, which said it planned to lay off 50 employees by Dec. 14.
