Framingham Local Wins Junior World Championship For USA Luge
The team of Ansel Haugsjaa, of Framingham, and Marcus Mueller took the title for the U.S. for the first time since 2013.
LILLEHAMMER, NORWAY — A Framingham local and a Wisconsinite went to Norway to bring a luge championship back for the United State.
The team of Marcus Mueller and Ansel Haugsjaa, the latter of Framingham, defeated doubles teams from Italy and Lativa to take home the Junior World Championship title recently.
It also marked the first World Championship for a U.S. sled since 2013.

Of the victory, Haugsjaa said it "feels amazing," according to a USA Luge report.
"[This is] something we've been working hard for [and] for a really long time, especially this season. So [this is] huge accomplishment for us," Haugsjaa added.

The race was narrow, with the U.S. team recording a time of one minute, 43.891 seconds, just .068 seconds better than the Italian team.
