Framingham Man Faces Drug Charges After MA Traffic Stop

The man also had a warrant out for his arrest out of Westborough District Court.

NORTHBOROUGH, MA — A Framingham local was arrested on drug charges after a recent traffic stop in Northborough.

Dario Goncalves da Penha is charged with possession of a clas B and E drug and operating a car with a suspended license.

On Monday around 3:29 a.m., Southborough Police Officer Theodore Davis was on patrol on Framingham Road when he observed a Ford F-150 pickup truck driving in the opposite direction with a broken rear taillight, Northborough police officials said.

Officer Davis activated his cruiser's emergency lights and stopped the vehicle on Marlboro Road. Davis then learned that Goncalves da Penha's license was suspended for refusing an alcohol test. He also learned there was an active default warrant for his arrest out of Westborough District Court.

Officer Jeffrey Mayer arrived to provide backup and saw Goncalves da Penha reaching into the truck's center console, at which point he was asked to step out of the vehicle.

During a later search of the center console, officers located 14 Methylphenidate pills, eight Torsilax pills, 30 Lorazepam pills and 10 Tramadol pills.
