The Framingham Mayoral Race - A Study in Polar Opposites
The different approaches of the two candidates: Geoff Epstein and Charlie Sisitsky were captured on Instagram, but apply across the board

In a recent Instagram post by Matt Shearer of WBZ NewsRadio, the first interview of both Mayoral candidates reached the Framingham community, and far beyond. The issue which sparked the piece was the name similarity of Mayoral candidate Geoff Epstein to the serial sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
That's an awkward happenstance, but with the national media picking it up as well, it provided an opportunity to see how both candidates reacted to such an unexpected and unusual circumstance.

Geoff Epstein confronts the situation head on with a sense of humor, while Charlie Sisitsky said: "I would run from it".
When Kelly Garrity from Politico called, Geoff Epstein discussed the issue at length. When HuffPost emailed, he answered their questions. When cable TV channel NewsNation wanted an on air interview with Markie Martin on Morning in America, he engaged.

The Geoff Epstein Mayoral Campaign Goes National
So much for different styles when dealing with uncomfortable situations.
But there is more.
Epstein is campaigning heavily on the basic issues of Education, Environment and Infrastructure, arguing that there are big problems to address, which Sisitsky ignored or made worse. Plus, Epstein has a full scale program to deliver realistic solutions to get the city back on a rising trajectory, with no property tax bill impacts.
Sisitsky is campaigning on his record of achievements, including bringing back the fireworks, expanding the Farmers Market, using Federal COVID money to purchase properties, etc. Sisitsky says: “Everything’s going great.”
The campaigns have launched their first media campaigns: an Epstein flyer and a Sisitsky mailer.
