UPDATED: Framingham Police Use Taser on Teen, During Altercation at School

The two officers were injured in the assault. The teen was arrested.

Framingham Police used a Taser on a teen, 15, on Wednesday night, after the teen repeated tried to grab for the police officer’s gun.

The teen, who is not being named, was arrested. He was charged with two counts of assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest.

Wednesday night around 7:30, Police were dispatched to the Walden School for a medical event.

At the school, they were summoned to a separate disturbance involving the teen, 15.

“When the officers encountered, the juvenile, he immediately assaulted Sgt. Rachel Mickens, grabbing her holstered firearm repeatedly attempting to obtain it while punching, kneeing and kicking her,” said Framingham Police. Lt. Stephen Cronin,

“Officer Kim Kelleher assisted Sgt. Mickens in an attempt to free the juvenile’s grip on her firearm and restrain the juvenile, who continued to assault both Sgt. Mickens and Officer Kelleher, who was also punched, kicked and bitten by the juvenile,” said Lt. Cronin.

During the 10 minutes in which the juvenile repeatedly tried to gain control of Sgt Micken’s firearm, the juvenile was tased by Sgt Mickens, said Lt. Cronin.

“Although he recovered and continued to fight, he was subsequently restrained by the two officers, and later ordered by medical personnel to undergo a psych evaluation at MetroWest Medical Center,” said Lt. Cronin.

Both officers were treated and released from MetroWest Medial with non-life threatening injuries, said Lt. Cronin.

Framingham Police officers were summoned to Walden School, located on the campus of The Learning Center for the Deaf, in June 2014 for a disturbance involving this same juvenile making threats towards an officer. He was not charged in that instance.
