Framingham Proclaims June As LGBTQ Pride Month

Framingham is "a welcoming and inclusive community for LGBTQ individuals and families,"

FRAMINGHAM, MA—On Tuesday, June 5, the Framingham City Council proclaimed June as LGBTQ Pride Month in Framingham. LGBTQ Pride Month celebrates the individuals and members of Framingham’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning community who contribute greatly to the city's neighborhoods, culture and social fabric of the city, said the announcement.

Framingham is "a welcoming and inclusive community for LGBTQ individuals and families," according to the proclamation.

"Having the very first proclamation issued by the City Council on the topic of LGBTQ pride speaks volumes to the importance of diversity in our community," said City Council Chair Dennis Giombetti in a statement.

"Framingham is a wonderful city because of the people who live here," said Cheryl Tully Stoll, councilor at large, in a statement. "It was a privilege Tuesday evening to have the opportunity to publicly assert support for valued members of our community."
