Framingham State Volleyball Loses Home Opener

Junior Dani Tabor paced the visitors with a team-high 13 kills on 23 attempts with just two errors, sophomore Claire Sporer was solid recording eight kills and 14 digs. Sophomore Brenna Peruch shared match-high honors with Sporer as she also recorded 14 digs.

The Rams were led by 14 kills from junior Alycia Rackliffe classmate Julia Wan added eight kills and two aces. Freshman Mackenzie Whalen and sophomore Sarah Leonard picked up 12 set assists apiece, while Whalen also added three aces and nine digs.

The Rams opened the first set taking a 5-2 lead behind a pair of service aces from senior Danielle Girard. The Rams pushed the lead to 18-10 on a kill from sophomore Molly Meehan (before taking the set 25-17 on a Leonard kill.

The Panthers took control in the second set opening up a 17-8 lead on a Kirsten Perrotta kill, but the Rams closed the gap and pulled within two (23-21) on a PSU hitting error. A kill from Sporer and a kill from Alisha Flanagan closed the set for the Panther.

Plymouth State opened up a 9-0 lead in the third and never looked back as they took the frame 25-6. In the deciding set with the game tied at 5-5, the Panthers rattled off four straight points to take control and secure the victory.

The Rams are back in action on Saturday when they will face Newbury and Southern Maine at Southern Maine in a non-conference tri-match.
