Homeowner Discovers Teen Burglar Via Phone App

Police found the Framingham teen, 16 hiding in the basement of the Edgell Raod home on Friday morning.

FRAMINGHAM, MA - A Framingham teen, 16, was arraigned Friday in juvenile court, after police found him hiding in the basement of 278 Edgell Road on Dec. 18.

About 10:30 a.m. the homeowner, called Police, to say a male subject was walking around his home with a towel wrapped around his head, said Framingham Police Lt. Stephen Cronin.

The homeowner discovered the teen in his home, using one of the new smart phone apps, that allow individuals to look into their home when you are not there, said Framingham Police.

“He was using the towel to try and disguise himself,” said Lt. Cronin.

Police arrived at the home and found a rear window opened said Lt. Cronin.

After searching the house, Police found the teen hiding in the basement.

He was arrested and charged with breaking and entering, said Lt. Cronin.

Nothing was taken from the home, as the teen never left the home, said Lt. Cronin.

The teen entered the house through an unlocked window.

The Framingham teen has been arrested before.
