Framingham Woman, Shirley Man Involved in Head-On Pleasant Street Crash

Framingham Police will cite the Shirley man, 21, in the crash that closed the road on Monday night.

Framingham Police will cite a Shirley man, 21, who was involved in a head-on crash on Pleasant Street Monday night, that sent him and a Framingham woman, 47, to UMass Memorial in Worcester, with serious injuries.

Robert Costigan, 21, of Shirley will be cited in the 989 Pleasant Street crash that happened about 4 p.m. on Dec. 14, according to Police. Specific charges were not available on Tuesday.

Costigan, after extracted from the vehicle from Framingham firefighters, was transported to UMass Memorial in Worcester with serious injuries.

Idelma Cardoso, 47, of Framingham was taken via ambulance to UMass Memorial with serious injuries, also after extricated from her vehicle by Framingham firefighters. She suffered leg injuries.

Cardosa and witnesses told Police Costigan’s Acura travelled into Cardosa’s lane and struck her Mercury sedan head on.

The crash crossed Pleasant Street for most of the evening commute.
