Groleau 3rd Fastest in State; Lewis 6th Fastest

Framingham High boys indoor track team finished 19th at the MIAA Championships on Sunday.

The Framingham Flyers captured 19th place, as a team, at the MIAA Indoor Track Championships on Sunday, on the strength of its senior captains, said head coach Chris Collins.

Senior captain Ben Groleau captured third place in the 1,000-meter run, despite being cut-off several times in the race before rushing to the front pack late in the race, said head coach Chris Collins.He finished with a time of 2:30.73 and qualified for the New England Championships Friday evening at the Reggie Lewis Center. The race winner, with a time of 2:28.65, was Mansfield's Josh Lampron, who was last year's national champion in the mile.

Senior captain Bo Lewis finished sixth overall in the 300-meter race, with a time of 35.82. Lewis will also compete in the New England Championships Friday, and along with Groleau compete at the Nationals in New York City in March.
 
Senior captain Jake Devlin jumped 6'2" in the high jump Sunday, placing 13th overall. Devlin will compete at Nationals in March, too.
