Gymnastics Team Loses to Newton North by 0.35 Points

The Tigers of Newton North defeated the Framingham High gymnastics team 120.6 to 120.25 points, Monday night.

“It was a very close meet down to the last event, but Newton North ended up beating us by 0.35” points said senior captain Kate O’Callaghan.

Flyer Rachel Lew had the highest vault score of the meet.

Framingham senior tri-captain Ellie Burkett received a score of 8.7 on the balance beam, to win that event.

O’Callaghan said it was tough to lose such a close one, “but everyone had a good meet.”

O‘Callaghan said her teammates, including tri-captain Stephanie Fawell, “met their personal goals.”

The Framingham High gymnastics team is now 1-1 on the season, headed into the holiday break.
