Menu additions that reflect the festival’s roots in German communities will include pork knuckle with German potato salad and sauerkraut, German chocolate cake, potato pancakes, cheesy spaetzle and Flammkuchen pizza.
Three beer hall exclusives will also be released for Maifest, including a Festbier lager, Maifest, a take on a traditional Helles Bock and the Ratskeller Kellerbier. The latter is an "insiders’ lager named after underground bars of Germany. It’s unfiltered, golden and brewed for the people," brewery officials said.
Maifest will be held on the Jack's Abby patio at 100 Clinton St. starting at noon from May 16 to 18. In the event of rain, the celebration will move inside.
