Lady Flyers Defeat Braintree in Season Opener 60-36

Framingham junior Jenny Ribeiro posted the best time in the Bay State Conference in the 600-meter thus far this season.

The Framingham High girls indoor track team defeated Braintree High 60-36 to open the season with a victory.

The Flyers swept the 55-meter dash.

Senior captain Hilda Kusi won the race in 7.8 seconds. Senior captain Olivia Rothenburg finished second in 7.83 seconds and Hannah Greenberg was third in 7.98 seconds.

Framingham also swept the 300-meter event with underclassmen. Sophomore Zoie Carter won the event in 44.92Freshman Grace Poku took second place in 48.06 seconds and junior Ashley Wilson finished third.

Senior captain Lucy Matzilevich won the mile in 5:54 minutes. Sophomore Niamh White finished second in 6:26 minutes.

Senior Ellen Burton won the 100-meter event in 3:30 minutes. Junior Isabella Tersoni was third at 3:38 minutes.

The Flyers swept the hurdles. Greenberg captured finish in 10.98 seconds. Juniors Aleeza Zilberman and Marissa Book finished second and third.

Book tied for second place in the high jump with a leap of 4-feet,1-inch.

Senior captain Ayana Mckay finished second in the shot put.

Sophomore Sophie Meltzer finished second in the long jump with a leap of 14 feet. Greenberg finished third.

The Flyers ended the meet with a victory in the 4X200 relay. Runners were Meltzer, Rothenburg, Kusi and Carter.

The Framingham High girls indoor track team will battle the Rockets of Needham next on Thursday, Dec. 17.
