Long Range Shooting Leads Men's Basketball Over Clark 60-52

FRAMINGHAM, MA - The Framingham State men’s basketball team defeated Clark University by a score of 60-52 in a non-conference men’s basketball matchup Tuesday evening in Framingham.

With the win the Rams improve to 2-6 while the Cougars fall to 1-7.

The hosts were led by their hot three-point shooting going 10-for-22 (45.5%) from long range.
Senior Tim McCarthy and junior Daniel Gould (were both 4-of-8 from downtown tallying 14 points apiece. Senior Jacek Louisville also scored 14 while junior Patrick Gould scored 10 off the bench for the Rams.

Clark was paced by Lamar Berk who registered a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds. Tyler Huffman and Lica McCormick also tallied 14 points for the road team.

The Rams shot 46.5 percent from the floor and 45.5 percent from long range including making 71/4% of free throws. The visitors were only 20-of-62 (32.3 percent) from the field and 2-of-16 (12.5 percent) from downtown.

The Rams took the lead early and never relinquished the lead. Taking a 5 point lead into half time the Rams extended their lead early in the second stanza but a Clark run capped by a McCormick basket with 7:28 to play cut the Rams lead to 3. The back and forth battle continued through most of the half but the Rams success at the free throw line guided them to victory in the final minutes.

The Rams return to action on Saturday, Dec. 12, when they host Nichols at 3 p.m.
