Mass Bay Receives $45,000 Grant For Dual Enrollment Program
The grant will enable MassBay to offer lower or discounted tuition to high school students looking to earn college credit.

The Massachusetts Department of Higher Education has awarded Massachusetts Bay Community College a $45,000 Commonwealth Dual Enrollment Partnership Grant.
MassBay Community College, which has a campus in Framingham on Flagg Drive, allows qualified high school and home school students to enroll in college courses.
The grant will enable MassBay to offer lower or discounted tuition to high school students in the region looking to earn college credit while they are in high school through the dual enrollment program.

Dual Enrollment students can see significant savings in tuition by doing this — they earn college credit here and then enter four-year colleges as sophomores or juniors upon high school graduation.
The Commonwealth’s goals in the most recent grant cycle was to increase participation in the dual-enrollment program and increase representation in the program of low income, minority, and first-in family students.

Students wanting to take courses at Mass Bay must take a placement test into college level math or English courses. They must also have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be a Massachusetts resident enrolled in a Massachusetts public secondary school or non-public school, including home school.
