The driver of the Mercedes, a woman, was transported by ambulance to Beth Israel Hospital. Her injuries and her condition is unknown, as of Monday at 6 a.m.
Lt. Cronin said Evelyn Woldman of Framingham, who was driving the Mercedes, had life-threatening injuries but was listed in stable condition on Monday morning. Cronin said
Edgell Road was closed until almost 5 p.m. Shortly after the head-on crash, a second multi-vehicle crash took place on Edgell Road near Nobscot Park.
In the first crash, according to scanner reports, emergency responders found the Sudbury man in the silver vehicle unresponsive and not wearing a seat belt. First responders administered Narcan to the man on the scene.
Narcan is a drug used to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose, including respiratory depression.
According to those on the scene, it appeared the driver of the silver Nissan crossed the median and struck the Mercedes head-on.
Witnesses and residents of that neighborhood, said there were no skid marks on the road.
At one point, over the public police channel on the scanner, one emergency responders said “it appears to be an attempted suicide.”
The Sudbury man, whose name has not been released, had surgery for internal injuries. He also has head and neck injuries.
One emergency responder, on the scanner, said there may have been a domestic incident prior to the crash.
Lt. Cronin said Sudbury Police were looking for Cronin in regards to a domestic incident earlier on Sunday.
Conti is married with children, and another child later this year.
There were no major injuries in the second crash reported on Edgell Road on Sunday.
