Police Identify Pedestrian Struck on Route 9

The Marlborough man, 35, was listed in critical condition at UMass Memorial in Worcester on Monday, April 6.

Framingham Police, on Monday, released the name of a Marlborough man found unconscious on Route 9, with life threatening head trauma, after being struck by a vehicle driven by a Hopkinton man on Friday night, April 3.

Framingham Police identified the pedestrian as Alexandre Diniz, 35, of Marlborough, said Lt. Stephen Cronin.

He was listed in critical condition at UMass Memorial in Worcester on April 6.

His vehicle had significant damage to the windshield and its roof.

Framingham Police Crime scene services responded, photographed the scene and collected evidence, said Lt. Cronin.

Mass State Police Reconstruction Team is assisting with the investigation.

Alcohol did not appear to be a factor with driver, and no charges have been filed against driver at this time, said Lt. Cronin.

The crash remains under investigation with the Massachusetts State Police and the Framingham Police.
