SLIDESHOW: Records Set in Framingham State Loss

Quarterback's 43 completions, 59 attempts, and 510 yards were all new Framingham State single game records.

The Framingham State University football team received a school record 510 passing yards and five touchdowns from senior Matt Silva, but it was not enough as SUNY Cortland held off a late comeback from the Rams to secure a 61-49 victory in non-conference action Saturday afternoon at Framingham’s Bowditch Field.

In a high scoring affair, the two teams combined for an Framingham State school record of 110 points and 1,071 yards of total offense.

Despite the loss, the Rams racked up a school record 575 yards, while the Red Dragons accumulated 496. Led by Silva’s arm the Rams threw for a school record 510 yards through the air.

Silva established three Framingham State single game passing records in the contest as he completed 43-of-59 for 510 yards with five touchdowns and one pick.

The 43 completions, 59 attempts and 510 yards are all new Framingham State single game records.

Seniors Tevin Jones and Marcus Grant paced the receiving core with 10 catches apiece. Grant picked up 90 yards on his 10 catches with two touchdowns, while Jones picked up a game-high 156 receiving yards with one score.

this was the home opener for the Flyers, who are now 1-1 on the season.

The Rams are back in action at home Saturday when they entertain Fitchburg State University in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup at Bowditch Field beginning at noon.
