The Framingham High gymnastics team lost a very close meet to Bay State Conference rival Needham High Tuesday night.

The Rockets won 136.9 to 134.2.

“Since it was our last home meet, our goal was just to go out and have fun and try our best,” said co-captain Kate O’Callaghan. “Even though we lost, we got our highest team score thus far. Needham was a good competition for us and pushed us to do our very best.”

Bryn McIlhenny got her highest score on bars with an 8.3. Maggie Mulhall also scored her highest bars routine, said O’Callaghan.

Aly Chalmers did very well on floor scoring a 7.9.

“Overall, it was a great last meet and I’m proud of how well everyone has improved this season,” said O’Callaghan, a senior on the team.

Next up for the Flyers is the Bay State Conference meet on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Newton North.
