State FY2019 Budget Includes 11 Percent More For Framingham Roads

The Mass. FY2019 budget includes $300,000 for the schools to address overcrowding, and $50,000 for downtown, nearly $5 million for roads.

FRAMINGHAM, MA—With Governor Charlie Baker's FY2019 budget submitted, it now has passed the House and sits in the Senate for approval.

Final budget totals for MetroWest Cities and Towns include several line items for Framingham, according to Sen. Karen Spilka.

They are:

$300,000 for Framingham Public Schools to mitigate student overcrowding (7010-0005)
$100,000 Resiliency for Life program in the Framingham High School (7061-9611)
$250,000 to accommodate the transition for city government (1599-0026)
$50,000 for Downtown Framingham, Inc. (7008-0900)
$25,000 Hoops and Homework (7061-9611)
Chapter 70 - $47,342,453 - $4,979,232 (11.75%) increase over FY18 GAA
Unrestricted General Government Aid - $10,286,847 - $347,864 (3.5%) increase over FY18 GAA

MetroWest totals include:

$250,000 Tempo Wayside Youth and Family Support (4800-0038)
$100,000 for United Way of Tri-County’s Call 2 Talk program (4513-1026)
$100,000 for a transportation program operated by SMOC to assist people in getting to work (4401-1000)
$100,000 for SMOC’s Opioid Crisis Response program (4512-0200)
$50,000 for Serenity House in Framingham (4512-0205)
$50,000 for MetroWest Veterans District (1410-0010)
$100,000 for Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center (4000-0014)
$50,000 for Commercial Driver’s License workforce program operated by the MetroWestRegional Transit Authority (7003-0100)
$15,000 for MetroFest (7008-0900)
$100,000 for 495/MetroWest Partnership (7008-0900)
