Town of Framingham Wants Residents to Adopt-A-Hydrant
The "Adopt-A-Hydrant" program will allow residents to volunteer to keep hydrants in their neighborhood accessible.

The Town of Framingham has launched an “Adopt-A-Hydrant” program.
There are more than 2,300 hydrants in Framingham.
Each hydrant is vital to the Town’s water distribution system and emergency response, stated a press release.

The “Adopt-A-Hydrant” program will allow residents to volunteer to keep hydrants in their neighborhood accessible.
By keeping hydrants free of debris and snow, volunteers will help the Department of Public Work’s maintain a vital piece of infrastructure and firefighters respond to a fire emergency more quickly, when every second counts. By adopting a hydrant, you may be saving lives, said the release

To Adopt-A-Hydrant:
- Visit https://adopta.dobt.co/town-of-framingham/
- Create an account
- Choose the hydrant(s) you would like to adopt
- Name the hydrant(s) you would like to adopt
- You will receive a confirmation email with your hydrant(s) location
In the winter time, this would include shoveling out the hydrant.
