Traffic Alert: Gas Main Work on Speen Street; Sidewalk Installation on Main Street

It’s Christmas week, but construction work will continue until the holiday.

Below is a list of Town of Framingham, utility, and MassDOT projects in Framingham between Dec 21-24, 2015.

• SPEEN STREET: Eversource Gas is installing gas mains and services on Speen Street from Old Connecticut Path to Cochituate Road. Expect delays.
• DOWNTOWN FRAMINGHAM RECONSTRUCTION: Contractors continue to install traffic signals, street lights and wiring throughout the project. Expect minor delays and on-street parking restrictions in areas of construction.
• MAIN STREET SIDEWALK: The west side pedestrian sidewalk on Main Street just south of Route 9 will remain closed between High Street and Granite Street while the structural integrity of the aging stone wall is evaluated.
• ROUTE 9 BRIDGE OVER FOSS RESERVOIR OUTLET: Contractors are working on the southern section of the bridge. The westbound pedestrian sidewalk will remain closed. Expect minor delays.
• CENTRAL STREET BRIDGE OVER THE SUDBURY RIVER: The bridge will remain closed for the winter. Traffic will continue to be detoured over the Wickford Road Bridge. Please allow additional travel time.
