Traffic Alert: Road Construction Projects in Framingham This Week

The following is a list of Town of Framingham and MassDOT projects happening the week of Sept 14.

The following is a list of Town of Framingham and MassDOT projects happening the week of Sept 14.

Expect delays in some areas.

  • BEAVER STREET: Sidewalk restoration work will begin. Expect minimal delays.
  • CENTRAL STREET BRIDGE OVER THE SUDBURY RIVER: Construction of the new bridge will continue. Traffic will continue to be detoured over the Wickford Road Bridge. Please allow additional travel time.
  • COBURN STREET AREA: The contractor will continue curbing, sidewalk and water main work on Bethany Road, Bridges Street, Bridges Street Extension, Cedar Street, Clifford Street and Cypress Street. Expect delays.
  • CONCORD STREET (Route 126) DOWNTOWN FRAMINGHAM RECONSTRUCTION: During the week, sidewalk work will begin on Hollis Street between Hollis Court and Irving Street. Expect moderate delays and on-street parking restrictions.
  • EVERSOURCE DOWNTOWN UTILITY PROJECT: The contractor will continue conduit installation on Hollis Street from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. The anticipated construction includes conduit installation on Hollis Street. Expect moderate delays.
  • MAIN STREET: The contractor will continue utility construction work on Main Street between Union Avenue and High Street in the nighttime hours of 8 p.m. through 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday nights. Traffic plans may include one-way alternating traffic and/or detours. Expect traffic delays on affected roadways. Police details will be on site to facilitate traffic.
  • MILLWOOD STREET AND WINCH STREET: The contractor will be installing street signage in the area of the newly installed speed humps. Expect minimum delays.
  • NICOLAS ROAD: Contractors will complete crosswalk markings. Expect minimum delays.
  • ROUTE 9 BRIDGE OVER FOSS RESERVOIR OUTLET: Construction continues on the middle section of the bridge. The westbound pedestrian sidewalk will remain closed. Expect moderate delays.
  • WAVERLY STREET: Curbing work will begin in preparation for the new crosswalk in the area of the train station. Expect delays.
