UPDATE: Truck Strikes Pole Closing Downtown Street, Knocks Out Power To Businesses

Repairs took hours and a temporary detour was in effect until after 3 p.m. on Friday, March 4.

A tractor-trailer truck pulled down wires and took out a pole in a Friday morning crash, causing a transformer to blow, said Framingham Police.

The pole and wires blocked part of Concord Street, after the 7:55 a.m. crash.

The incident knocked out power to several businesses in downtown Framingham, including the MetroWest Federal Credit Union, MutualOne Bank, and Dunkin' Donuts. The Memorial Building was operating on a generator.

Power was out for more than 3 hours.

A temporary detour was in effect on Concord Street (Route 126) between Lincoln Street and Memorial Square.

It lasted all morning.
