One student from each grade was selected to throw a pie into the face of one of their teachers, but a couple of lucky students had the opportunity to toss a pie into the face of Principal Matt Hanlon, Assistant Principal Jean Nolan, and literacy coach Brett Berkman.
Also during the assembly each student, who completed their summer reading, had their name read out loud and were asked to stand in the gym, to be recognized.

Principal Hanlon and Assistant Principal Nolan also discussed their favorite book they read this summer with the students.
Nolan and Rachel Carlson showed off the chain of literacy created by the number of books read by students at the Framingham elementary school.
