• Mello Cuts an Hour of Trash Truck Transfer Traffic (thetowncommon.com) — Georgetown’s Board of Health has approved G. Mello Disposal’s request to end morning trash trailer traffic an hour earlier, at 7:30 a.m., to avoid the school bus peak. Neighbors remain worried about student safety and traffic on Carleton Drive, while new rules on driveway-blocking, odor monitoring, and litter control aim to reduce neighborhood impacts from the transfer station.
   

• New Pet Food Pantry! (thetowncommon.com) — Two Georgetown residents, Shayna Gatautis and Toni Knott, have launched the Essex County Pet Pantry to help local families keep their pets fed during tough economic times. Working with regional partners, they’re building donation and distribution networks so residents don’t have to surrender beloved animals when money is tight.
