1. 5 on Friday will perform on Wednesday at the Concert on the Common series at 6 p.m.

3. The Traffic Safety Advisory Committee will meet at 7 p.m. at the , 30 Providence Road.

 4. On this day in 1976, Hank Aaron hit his final career home run, bringing his career total to 755, the second-most in major league history. (And with the controversy surrounding Barry Bonds, who broke the record, some say it still should have the top spot. At the induction of Jim Rice into the Hall of Fame, Aaron was introduced to the roaring crowd as “your home run champion.’’) He hit his 755th against Dick Drago, a one-time Red Sox. Two other former Sox played key roles when he broke the record. Bill Buckner made a valiant attempt to catch the ball before it sailed into the stands. And Tom House caught the ball in the bullpen.
