Board OKed to Oversee Library Project

Town Meeting supports a committee of nine, pending the Dec. 13 vote.

A final decision on the issue will not be made until Dec. 13, but Town Meeting voters agreed last week to authorize a nine-member committee to oversee the library expansion project.

By a two-vote margin, Town Meeting voters approved a $6.6 million expansion project on Oct. 17.

The issue now goes to the ballot box Dec. 13. Unlike the two-thirds vote required at Town Meeting, this decision requires a simple majority.
