Businesses to be Honored After 50 Years

Plans are under way to honor companies who have been in business more than 50 years with a celebration next year.

Town resident Charles Bolack told selectmen earlier this week that there “has been much interest’’ in the event, which he first mentioned at a previous selectman’s meeting.

He hopes that the celebration will be the first event at the new auditorium next October.

Grandfather clocks that have been provided by an anonymous donor will be presented to the business owners, Bolack said.

He said he will return to a selectman’s meeting early in 2012 to update the board on his progress.
