
Non-essential watering is not allowed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to new requirements issued by the Department of Environmental Protection.
What is considered non-essential watering and is not allowed:
Irrigation of lawns via sprinklers or automatic irrigation systems.

Washing vehicles, except at commercial car washes or as needed for operator safety.
Washing exterior building surfaces, parking lots, driveways or sidewalks.

What is allowed:
New lawns and plantings during May and September.
Irrigation of lawns, gardens, flowers and plants with a hand-held hose.
Businesses that require water use as a core function of their business.
