DPW Building Committee on Warrant
The committee, if approved, would explore a new or renovated DPW building.

Town Meeting voters will be asked whether to establish a committee to look at the future of the building.
The Department of Public Works Building Committee would be directed to oversee to completion the planning and construction of a new or renovated facility to replace/enhance the current facilities at 27 Upton St.
Selectmen approved that warrant article Tuesday night during their meeting.

At a meeting of town boards last Thursday, some in attendance argued that a new or renovated DPW building should move up the town’s priority list.
The building “has deteriorated far worse than any other building in town,’’ said Dan Pogorzelski, chairman of the Public Works Advisory Committee, said at the meeting last Thursday.

The warrant article does not specify how many members should be on the commttee. There are nine members on the Grafton High School Building Committee and the Grafton Public Library Building Committee.
There was some discussion about whether the committee should remain intact until a new building could be constructed or renovations completed, which selectman John Dowling said could possibly take more than 10 years.
In the end, they decided to leave the wording as is.
