Farm Stand to Open at Liquor Store

Five Star Liquors will be the site of a summer farm stand.

Starting in late June, you can purchase vodka and vegetables at the same location.

The Board of Selectmen last night approved a peddler’s license for a farm stand to be located this summer on the site of .

Dennis Walsh, who runs a similar operation in his hometown of Charlton, told selectmen he will receive deliveries of fresh produce from local farms seven days a week.

The stand, which will be located under two 10 foot by 10 foot tents connected together, will likely be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day, with Sunday hours of 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

He said he expects to open when sweet corn is available, which he said will probably happen around June 20. The stand will close around Labor Day, he said.

Selectman John Carlson asked if he would be using Grafton farms. Walsh said he would consider it, but that no town farms had reached out to him.
