FinCom Backs Library Expansion
Meetings are scheduled this weekend to review the proposed expansion.

Supporters of the expansion got some good news last night when the Finance Committee voted to approve the project.
The Finance Committee will present its recommendations at the Oct. 17 Town meeting. Article 5 on the warrant asks whether voters will approve an $11.7 million library expansion.
With a $5 million state grant approved for the project, the town’s share of the cost would be $6.7 million. Supporters said that cost could be offset to some degree by private donations.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss and review the proposed architectural design and strategy behind the expansion-renovation of the Grafton Library. A presentation will include detailed slides, drawings and renderings of the proposed building.
After the presentation the floor will be open to address question, concerns, and clarifications about the entire project. Several trustees will also be on hand to answer questions and literature will be available with additional information.
An open house will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2 at the library.
Visitors can tour the library, see what the needs are and learn about how these needs will be addressed, the trustees said.
