Flood Watch Issued

Two to four inches of rain are possible by midday.

After a long dry spell, the National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for the area.

Continued heavy rain is expected early today, with rainfall totals of two to four inches expected by midday.

Flooding is expected in poor drainage areas, although main rivers are expected to remain below flood stage.

RAIN WILL BE HEAVY AT TIMES TONIGHT AND EARLY MONDAY. THE BEST CHANCE FOR HEAVY RAIN WILL BE ALONG THE EAST SLOPES OF HIGHER TERRAIN. EMBEDDED CONVECTION CAN NOT BE RULED OUT IN CONTRIBUTING TO LOCALLY HIGHER RAINFALL RATES. TOTAL RAINFALL BY MONDAY MIDDAY WILL BE BETWEEN 2 AND 4 INCHES.
