Grafton Community Television to host open house Feb. 21.

Grafton Community Television will host an open house and tour of the townβs cable public access TV facilities from 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Grafton Community Television studios, 296 Providence Road in South Grafton.
The open house also serves as an introduction to the spring 2011 video production class, which begins March 7.
According to Kris McMullin, Grafton Community Television Public Access Coordinator, βThe GCTV staff are always happy to welcome the public to our studio to give them a better understanding ofΒ howΒ Cable Access TVΒ works in Grafton. In addition, residents can learn about our free GCTV Video Production Course, starting March 7th, which will teach them how to make their own access TV shows.β
The Spring 2011 GCTV video production class runs for eight weeks. The class lets participants get comfortable with using a video camera, editing their own programs and learning the basics of behind the scenes directing. The class is made available at no charge to Grafton residents, town employees and local business owners who are 18 years of age or older, regardless of whether or not they are cable television subscribers.

Completion of the class certifies the participant as a GCTV producer and allows him or her to produce their own television shows on Grafton Community Television.

Charter Channel 11/Verizon Channel 34 provides general interest programming, Charter Channel 12/Verizon Channel 33 broadcasts town government programming, and Charter Channel 13 /Verizon Channel 32 features school programming and high school sports events.
