Grafton Receives $3,870 Cultural Grant

The grant will be used to sponsor cultural programs in town.

The Grafton Cultural Council has been awarded $3,870 Local Cultural Council grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, state Representative George N. Peterson, Jr., R-Grafton, and state Sen. Michael O. Moore, D-Millbury, have announced.

The grant, which was announced by the MCC as part of a statewide funding initiative, will help to support a variety of cultural activities to benefit local residents.

“I am pleased the MCC has afforded the Grafton Cultural Council the opportunity to continue the amazing work they do to bring the arts to the residents of Grafton,” Peterson said in a prepared statement. “This funding will help continue the ongoing outreach initiative and success of the Cultural Council here in Grafton.”

The Local Cultural Councils comprise the most extensive public cultural funding network in the nation. They continue to provide funding to every Massachusetts city and town through 329 local councils and more than 2,300 volunteers.

“I am very pleased to see this funding made available for Grafton’s Cultural Council,” Moore said in a prepared statement. “It is important for us to continue to support cultural endeavors that bring the community together and showcase the best of our people and talents.”
