World War II Monument Installed in Common
World War II monument will be dedicated Nov. 11.
The new World War II outdoor granite monument arrived at Grafton Common early Tuesday morning. The monument was assembled by a crew from Whitinsville Monumental Works under the direction of owner Tom Delfanti.
The World War II Monument Committee of the has scheduled the dedication of the monument for Veterans Day Friday, Nov. 11 at the Grafton Common.
Everyone is invited to participate as the monument is formally presented to the town.

“We are grateful for the many individuals, businesses and organizations who contributed to make this monument a fitting tribute to our World War II veterans. On this Veterans Day, we look forward to welcoming all living Grafton World War II veterans and their families, and the families of those veterans who are no longer with us,” said Grafton Historical Society president Linda Casey in a prepared statement.
This year the ceremony will especially honor all Grafton residents who served in World War II.

Guests will gather on the Grafton Common by 10:45 a.m. The Honor Guard will be provided by the Grafton Delisle Goulet American Legion Post 92 and Grafton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1497.
Veterans Day and monument dedication ceremonies will begin at the traditional hour of 11 a.m. Following the ceremony, there will be a reception in the lower hall of the hosted by the World War II Monument Committee.
