Night Lights: Day 1

Tree outside 163 Worcester St. has grown into a holiday tradition.

When Mike Mitchell of 163 Worcester St. planted the tree outside his house, the shoot was barely a foot tall. He planted it with his then 10-year-old daughter for a school project.

Today his daughter is 32 and the tree is 35 feet tall. He does not have a ladder tall enough to reach the stop so he climbs the highest branches to place the upper strings of lights and the star on top.

The house is lit in an elegant, classic style that complements its history. The house was built in 1780.
