Planting the Seeds to a Successful Sale
Grafton Garden Club members dirty their hands for a good cause.

Members of the Grafton Garden Club plopped plant plugs into 6-packs yesterday at Mapel Plants on Brigham Hill Road in Grafton in preparation for this year's plant sale.
Club members  spent a few hours in the greenhouse and transplanted thousands of tiny vegetable and flower seedlings into 6-pack trays to allow the plants to grow and be ready for sale at the Grafton Garden Club plant sale May 16 on the Common.
To start the day, the club members received instruction on how to prepare the growing mix, how to pack the 6-packs with the mix, how to insert the plugs, and how to press them in to make good contact.

The members formed a high-performing assembly line, and as they completed the 6-pack trays, they put their hard work into the main greenhouse at Mapel Plants.
Along with these club-made 6-packs, the club expects to sell perennials donated by people who have extras in their yard, hanging baskets that the club will return to Mapel Plants in a couple of weeks to create, herbs, tomatoes, and the bake and raffle table items.
