Precincts 2, 3 and 4 Boosted Library

Nearly 800 voters cast ballots last night on the expansion question.

But in the end, the decision _ a yes vote for the project _ came down to two votes.

 A total of 782 voters cast ballots. Of these, 523 supported the project, two more than the two-thirds required for approval.

 The precinct breakdown went like this:

 Precinct 1, 49 yes, 77 no, total 126.

 Precinct 2, 147 yes, 56 no, total 203.

 Precinct 3, 211 yes, 54 no, total 265.

 Precinct 4, 116 yes, 72 no, total 188.

No recount is possible, Town Clerk Maureen Clark said. A Town Meeting vote happens only that night.
