Prescription Drugs Can Be Returned Saturday
Annual program aims to reduce the potential dangers of drugs in the home.

This annual event encourages people to dispose of unwanted or expired prescription drugs in a safe and environmentally friendly way.Â
Grafton is participating in the event this year for the first time, said Lois Luniewicz, Grafton health agent and director of the town's Medical Reserve Corps.

"Having drugs in the house is not a good idea,'' she said.Â
There is no cost to this program, and no questions are asked. Â

"You just have to walk in the door and drop them off, and that's it,'' she said. "It's a great way to do it.''
Many Americans are not aware that medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse, according to information provided by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.Â
During the same time the drug take-back will be occurring, the t will be providing medical screenings and drug interaction counseling.Â
The Grafton Medical Reserve Corps will also accept applications for volunteers during this time.
