The National Weather Service (NWS) in Boston has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Worcester County until 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6. The local radar map shows a band of strong thunderstorms sweeping across the state from the west.
“National Weather Service Doppler radar continued to indicate a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. This storm was located near Gardner, or 12 miles west of Fitchburg, moving east at 30 mph,” NWS issued in a statement at 7:46 p.m.
A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect for Massachusetts through 9 p.m.
